Privacy policy

Swoop is a synthesizer app for iPhone and iPad made by Maxcommerce (the Netherlands). This policy explains which data the app and this website use.

In short

The app collects nothing. This website only measures visits if you say yes.

What the app collects

Nothing. Swoop has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don't receive any information about you or about how you use the app.

What stays on your device

Settings and presets: Your sounds, favourites, panel look, keyboard size and MIDI settings are stored on your device. They are also saved inside the projects of the host apps you use Swoop in. They are included in your device backups as usual, but they are never sent to us.
Files you import: .syx files you open in Swoop are read on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere.

Permissions

Bluetooth: Only used when you choose to connect a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard.
Local network: Only used when you turn on Mac Link, to receive MIDI from a Mac on your own network. Nothing is sent over the internet.

This website

swoopsynth.app asks before it sets any cookie that isn't strictly needed. If you click “Reject all”, or ignore the banner, we only store your choice. If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people. If you also allow marketing, Google may link your visits to your Google account (Google signals), which gives us cross-device and audience reports (such as age range and interests, only in aggregate) and lets us measure our ads. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), separately per category, and you can withdraw it any time with the Cookies button at the bottom of the page.

The analytics data goes to our own tagging server in Germany first, which decides what is forwarded to Google. Google uses your IP address only to estimate your country and city, and doesn't store it. Google processes the data on our behalf and may process it in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We keep analytics data for 14 months. Whether Google uses your activity for personalised ads is controlled by your own Google account settings. Fonts, images and the promo video are served from this site; like any web server, it briefly handles your IP address to deliver the pages.

cl_consent: Necessary. Remembers your cookie choice. 1 year.
_ga, _ga_*, FPID: Analytics, only with your consent. Tells visits apart. Up to 2 years.
Google signals: Marketing, only with your consent. No extra cookie on this site; Google uses your Google account session.

Children

Swoop collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
